Home Site – Buckingham County, Virginia
Traveller’s Rest is one mile south of Warminster and across the James River in Buckingham County, Virginia on Route 604.
Architecture
Although the WPA report says the original house was brick and was weatherboarded when an addition was added in 1850, investigation indicates it was always a frame house. The house had four rooms with a wide center hall. The center section is two stories with end chimneys and an overhanging slate roof. The entrance has a two story enclosed porch and a diamond pattern railing separates the two levels.
